Ndege Chai Sacco is a licenced Deposit Taking Sacco and one of the leading Saccos in Kenya. The Sacco’s mission is to efficiently mobilise resources for sustainable provision of affordable products and services to our members in Kenya and beyond. The Sacco wishes to recruit results oriented persons with drive, vision and creativity to fill Teller positions at its establishments.
ROLE PURPOSE
Reporting to the Front Office Service Manager, the Teller will serve as the primary point of contact for Sacco members, providing efficient and accurate transaction processing while promoting the Sacco’s financial products to drive institutional growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transaction Processing: Accurately process member deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, and utility payments in line with Sacco policies.
- Member Service: Act as the first point of contact, resolving member inquiries and providing information on account balances and Sacco services.
- Vault & Cash Management: Maintain and reconcile a cash drawer daily, ensuring all physical cash matches system records and reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Compliance & AML: Verify member identities and signatures; strictly adhere to “Know Your Customer” (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
- Product Cross-Selling: Identify member needs and proactively promote Sacco products such as FOSA and BOSA accounts, fixed deposits, and all loan products.
- Record Keeping: Ensure all transaction vouchers and withdrawal slips are properly filed and archived for audit purposes.
- End-of-Day Reconciliation: Carry out end of day reconciliation at the close of each business and prepare daily summaries for the Treasury.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate must possess the qualifications/competencies outlined below:
- Bachelors degree in Business related course
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Numerical Accuracy: Exceptional ability to handle large volumes of cash and figures without error.
- Customer Orientation: High level of patience and empathy when dealing with diverse member demographics.
- Integrity: Unwavering ethical standards in handling member funds and confidential data.
- Technological Proficiency: Exceptional knowledge in the digital space.
- Communication Skills: Fluency in English and Kiswahili, with the ability to explain complex financial terms simply.
